What do I have to do to become a member of Redeemer?
Step 1: Membership Classes -- Introduction to Redeemer
The first step in the membership process is to complete the Welcome to Redeemer Class. There is no charge to attend this seminar. Please note that the classes are open to anyone interested in learning more about Redeemer and do not oblige you to join. For additional information send an e-mail to .
Step 2: Membership Interview
After you have completed the class and have expressed an interest in joining, you will be scheduled for an interview with an elder. If you are married and your spouse has also completed the seminar, you will be interviewed together. Engaged couples are interviewed separately. Interviews usually last approximately 15-25 minutes.
You can request an interview by sending e-mail at
. Please provide a working e-mail address.
Step 3: Reception in a Sunday Service
After your interview your membership will be confirmed at a future Sunday worship service.
What if I am transferring from another Church?
If you are currently a member of another Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) church, you must take the Introduction to Redeemer course and be interviewed.
If you are a member of a non-PCA church and are joining Redeemer and your former church requires a letter from Redeemer acknowledging that you are officially joining another congregation, please let us know the name and address of your former church.
Can I retain membership in my former Church and still join Redeemer?
Under our bylaws, Redeemer does not allow dual membership.
What if I want to be baptized?
If you want to be baptized, make sure you discuss this with the officers who interview you. This will allow you to be scheduled for baptism on the day you are received into membership in front of the congregation.
What are the requirements for having my child baptized?
If you want to have your child baptized, at least one parent has to be a Redeemer member. Please contact Pastor Jim Belcher at for more information.
