CURRENT AND RECENT EVENTS:

  • EASTER OUTREACH:  Redeemer shared the Good News of Easter by:
    • Delivering 41 bags of food and a Food-4-Less gift card to the House of Hope moms and kids in this long-term women's shelter.
    • Sending Easter cards to the House of Hope moms, responding to their specific prayer requests.  Each mom received at least 3 cards from a Redeemerite.
    • Sending Easter cards to hand-picked local inmates, with many already responding back to us.

    • CHRISTMAS OUTREACH:  Redeemer had 3 successful holiday outreaches:
      • We blessed our Redeemer Marine Lt. Joe Passman and his Platoon in Fallujah with 3 boxes of gifts and cards, as well as supplies for an Iraqi school to help build American - Iraqi relationships.
      • Provided and delivered gifts for 30 local Angel Tree children who have a parent in prison.
      • Signed up to provide a Christmas card, birthday card, or card of encouragement to 44 local inmates, following up on our earlier Bible drive for them.

    • NOVEMBER FOOD DRIVE:  Thank you, Redeemerites!  We collected 45 bags and enough money to nearly fill all of SPIN's pantry shelves, and provide a ham, bread, and 4 lbs. of coffee to all 19 of their approved recovery homes for Thanksgiving.

    • April 26thYOUTH SERVICE PROJECT.  As a follow-up to gifting 3 citrus trees to the 3 Agape women's recovery homes on Palm Sunday, the youth group planted one of the trees in a large pot for one home, and dug holes and planted the other 2 trees at another home.  A job well done on Arbor Day!  See the Photo Gallery

    • March 16thPALM SUNDAY OUTREACH.  Thank you Redeemerites!  We had 21 Redeemerites attend the BBQ lunch for the 3 Agape women's recovery homes in Costa Mesa, and Redeemerites wrote more than 70 prayers that were distributed, touching the lives of the 31 women in the homes.  It was a true blessing to all those attending.  See the Photo Gallery

      • February:  BIBLE DRIVE FOR O.C. INMATES:  We were able to purchase over 1500 bibles to comfort inmates with the Good News of the Gospel!  The dedication and blessing of the bibles took place during the Sunday service on March 30th.  See the Photo Gallery.

      VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

      • BUILD RELATIONSHIPS as you share your time and heart at House of Hope, a long-term women's shelter. On the 2nd Saturday of every month, 11:00 - 2pm, we organize crafts, games, lunch, and story time with the moms and kids.  See the Photo Gallery.
      • SERVE with thousands of other Christians in the community as we volunteer at a local project on Serve Day each year, usually the last Saturday in July.  See the Photo Gallery.
      • DONATE food, clothing, or hygiene items several times each year at Redeemer to benefit SPIN's local storeroom in Costa Mesa, whose clients mainly come from homelessness or incarceration.
      • PURCHASE gifts at holiday time for those less fortunate.  Information and sign-ups will be in the Fellowship Hall, and have included the following organizations:
      • LEAD a new outreach.  If 2-3 Redeemerites are interested in a new outreach, we welcome your ideas.

FRIENDS OF REDEEMER - Providing financial aid to members and regular attenders of Redeemer to meet one-time basic needs of rent, utilities, or food.

      Our Values:

      • We have a healthy team process that includes prayer and a timely response.
      • We address the real problems, not just the presenting need.
      • We make it clear that financial assistance is a one-time gift and not a loan.  A recipient is not obligated to return or "pay back" any financial assistance provided.
      • We courageously speak the truth to each applicant.
      • We are good stewards of the money provided for this ministry by the church family and we address the stewardship issues of each applicant.
